The hostel is located on Ellis Street. A very busy street. And it’s a quite entertaining street: when going home you literally walk through private living rooms. So many people LIVE on Frisco’s streets. They drink, beg, look stoned
and are noisy. Americans call them “Bums”. Not exactly a nice environment. Therefore I decided to invest the same amount of money in parking my car safely in a parking garage as for sleeping in the hostel.
Alright, that sounds not too funny. So I decided that I must venture to find the great spots, the aspects of the former grandness of San Francisco. And where could this be?
Right, let’s discover the night-life. I had dinner with two German girls and once I brought them safely back to the hostel via stumbling over some sleeping people I decided that the night was young and off I was.
What to do? Well, wasn’t that a queue of people waiting to enter a club? I paid the entry, got thoroughly searched and in I was.
Only then I discovered that I must have fallen through a time&space hole. I was in China! Being the only Caucasian face in there, I found it pretty adventurous.
The music was loud; maybe some Chinese version of Ramstein. Nobody seemed to be too excited to see an European who was clearly over-dressed (not in style, but in the sheer amount of pieces of clothes) and after one drink I planned my exit and made it out alive. Later I found an in my eyes friendlier place: the good old Irish Pub. A safe heaven for millions of travellers, wherever they might find themselves. Well, let’s see what tomorrow brings!
