When planning the route of panmundo.com I thought, "well, I'm pretty lucky to be able to do such a trip. Maybe I should not only do this for fun, but to support some good cause!"
So I got interested into the work of various organizations – and looked closer at SOS-Children's Village. An international charity organization with Austrian roots. They help children around the world, children who face tough fates, who are orphans. By establishing villages exclusively for children they provide them with a new home, a family and education. It's like giving them a fair chance for a new life. I liked that and called the Swiss affiliate to find out what I could do for them during my trip (I reckoned that there might be a possible connection between a trip around the world and an organization present in 132 countries).
During the panmundo.com trip, the team will visit SOS-villages along the route.
Learn more about our visits in SOS Children's Villages (first visit in Mexico, Jan. 2007) and click on SOS Kinderdorf Blog.
Talking with the SOS-representatives, I learnt that the whole organization depends on donations and sponsors. Therefore I would like to present you my idea of raising money for a Children's Village in Ca-Mau, Vietnam: you can buy kilometers of the panmundo-trip and the whole money will directly be transferred to the Children's Village in Ca-Mau. As a service in return we will send you exclusive pictures from "your" kilometers somewhere in the world.
Here is what you can do:
Support SOS Children's Village and buy some kilometres from the trip around the globe. 1 km equals 1 $, 1 Euro or 1 Swiss Franc. You will get exclusive pictures from YOUR KILOMETERS sent via email. And 100% of the money will be transferred to the SOS-Children's Village in Ca-Mau, Vietnam!
