Now, gimme a break!

In his life, a man should build a house, plant a tree and father a son. Wasn’t there something else? Right, a man should at least once live at the beach of San Diego, California.

So, while the upper three are work in progress (well, more or less) number four has become real. My new address is as follows: Tobias Reichmuth, Mission Beach/25 metres to the surf, San Diego.

Panmundo takes a break! This in order to work on my dissertation. Don’t worry – not for too long, but until Christmas the Land-Cruiser becomes a surf-board carrier and the new pictures will focus on the California Beach Girls.
Well, in between I will do a short trip to Mexico to visit Hrefna, a girl with beautiful eyes whom I met up in Iceland. And in January, David will join the team and off we go to discover South America.

Meanwhile, I started to discover the secrets of furnishing a room with 200 Dollars. My flatmate Johanna had already furnished our beach-house up to perfection, so only a mattress and a desk chair was needed. She accompanied me to all the furniture houses (they have loads of stores for mattresses only!) only to end up at – can you guess? – IKEA. Which looked exactly identical as the IKEA in Pratteln, my hometown in Switzerland (editor’s note: this is when you start to believe that globalization is no longer a ghostly idea of the WEF guys but has become true).

San Diego is a great city. Palm trees, long sandy beaches, neat colourful little houses and high waves to scare away the surfing greenhorns. Our neighbour even was running through the street at midnight screeming “Hey friends, listen! I got a Swiss neighbour!”

I think I will like it here.
